On completion of his Barrister-at-Law from United Kingdom Mr. Mir Mohammed Helal Uddin devoted himself in the legal practice and soon after he joined the most prestigious law firm of the country “Khondker Mahbubuddin & Associates”. Mr. Mir Helal’s intimate association with Mr. Khondker Mahbubuddin Ahmad, known as the living legendary in the field of law, has made him to be the most promising young lawyer of the country.
Mr. Helal was enrolled as an Advocate in 2005 and since then he has been practicing in the High Court Division of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh jurisdiction, as well as Dhaka Judges Court and Chittagong Judges Court jurisdictions. Mr Helal was a Faculty Member of The British School of Law, House no. 9, Road no. 9, Baridhara D/A, Dhaka from 2002-2004. He has advised on various matters to the above mentioned Client list and has acted as Counsels for Dnata, (an International Ground Handling Agent). He has also represented shipping companies like Schanker, OOCL and has taken part in numerous Arbitrations for various multinational companies held in Bangladeshi jurisdiction as well as British and Singaporean Jurisdiction.
Mr Helal has acted on behalf of Joules Power Ltd which is the first operational Solar Power Plant in Bangladesh. Mr Helal has also worked with GuarantCo in their first project in Bangladesh with Teknaf Solar Power Ltd. GuarantCo is funded by the governments of the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia and Sweden through the PIDG Trust and the Netherlands, through FMO and the PIDG Trust. He has also represented Telenor Bangladesh and helped them set up their Liaison Office in Dhaka, and later Country Office in Bangladesh.
Mr Helal has also advised BanglaLink Telecommunication Company and Axiata Bangladesh on various compliance Issues. Mr Helal has also represented Kimin Power (UK) Ltd, Hertfordshire and Phelan Energy Group in relation to Balipara Solar Farm. Mr. Helal has also represented KLM Airlines in various issues. He has also represented Wings Aviations and Cargo which is cargo agents from France Air, Emirates and Gulf Air. He has also represented Silkways Ltd which was GSA of Malaysian Airlines. Mr Helal also represents Silkway Group which was the pioneer in manufacturing SIM card and CHIP and PIN cards in Bangladesh. Mr Helal has also represented Bangladesh National Team Cricketers namely Habibur Rahman Shumon, Khaled Mahmud Shujon and others in the much sensational Indian Cricket League (ICL) saga, and he has won the cases against ICL for Bangladesh National Team Cricketers and Bangladesh Cricket Board had to lift the ban on all the suspended Bangladesh National Team cricketers subsequently.
